New Practice Policies Effective January 3

- Effective January 3, 2022 the Silver 2 and Gold practices(5:15-6:45) will be closed practices Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This means the pool deck is closed to parents and guardians during those practice times. The benefits of closed practices are many and are not uncommon in youth sports, especially for practice groups consisting of 13 & Ups. This policy change was inspired by events and comments from both older swimmers and parents. Here is some recommended reading in line with KYD philosophy.
- There will be no lap swimming during practice times by members or parents.
- A handful of swimmers are consistently arriving very late to practice. In the swimming world, very late means more than 10 minutes. This is simply not acceptable and is clearly stated in the Team Handbook. Attendance will be documented beginning January 3.
- Parents and guardians will not be hired as or selected to be volunteers in coaching roles.
- Treat all Lifeguards as royalty. They might save you or your child's life someday. Please consider the impact of disrespecting an authority figure in front of a group of children.
