    October Update

    Happy Fall Dolphins Swim Team!

Topics: Team Suits, Caps, USA Registration, Home Meet, Starting Blocks Fundraiser, SwimTopia

We are off to a truly great start this season. Swimmers are happy and working hard during their practices. I don’t know if this is because things have returned to normal or if they will ever be normal again, however, the dark cloud hanging over 2020 and 2021 seems to have lifted. We have many new swimmers and many swimmers returning from pre-pandemic years.

This year, with input from the Senior swimmers, we’ve decided to specify a team suit color and “allow” swimmers to choose any suit brand/style. Royal Blue is the color. Jolyn and Arena(our team sponsor) offer several suits in this color. Jolyn calls this color Blueberry. Frankly, the Arena Team Challenge Back One Piece is a better racing suit. Note that suits that have straps requiring them to be tied are not legal for racing. Boys suits are very easy to find and have less fit issues for obvious reasons. This Team Jammer from Arena is a great racing suit.

An online order form for swim caps will be emailed and posted on SwimTopia this week. We will not be making a custom cap order with names.

Here is a link to the USA Swimming online registration. If you are unsure about your swimmer’s registration status contact Pedr. You will be able to see your swimmer’s registration expiration date when you create an account and sign in. If you haven’t already, most of you will need to renew your swimmer for 2023 sometime before the end of the year. Register at the Full Price member level.

Our first home meet this Sunday is against the Concord YMCA Sailfish. The Sailfish are a nice group and appreciative of our low-stress swim meets.
    • Swimmers should arrive on the pool deck ready to swim at 11:45.
    • The meet will start at 1pm and end at around 4pm.
    • Sign up for a job!

A group of parents have started planning a fundraiser to purchase much-needed new starting blocks. The Keene Y will purchase two of the six blocks. We need to raise about $20,000. More details about this coming soon.

This Sunday will be our first meet using SwimTopia with our touchpads to manage the timing system. Be sure to download the SwimTopia app and sign in when the meet starts. Some neat things will start appearing on your phone during the meet.

Thank you all for your support!
